Glass Museum in Murano

Murano is one of our favorite places. We went back to visit a museum dedicated to how the Murano glass is made and the history of it.

 Starts with sand, colors

 we saw instruments

 ancient bottles
 marbled rock like statues
 A glass park

 beads
 fruits
 guns, which really held wine
 animals
 Mirrors with ancient boys
 goblets
 chandeliers of octopus
bugs...all their parts that come to make one
 crabs
 birds
 cool animals

 hippo
 another chandelier
 turtles
 dna strand
 more chandeliers

we ended up by a church we had to take some pics with

another glass structure in a plaza

Giudecca

We explored an island that is parallel to Venice.  It is called Giudecca.

There is a cool bridge that crosses a huge water way

Bridget loved it
and the purple sky.

Beach with a friend

A friend from church was going back to England and came to visit us and go to the beach. I liked the color of the water as we were waiting for her to come.

We walked on a wall of sand.
She came and had dinner with us.
She is so nice I am going to miss Erica.

Adventure with Dad

Aaron is so busy we only get to go and see things with him on Saturday. He had wanted to go to this little spot of Venice which is like a peninsula, Punta Della Dogna.  We first stopped at the church of health, where they were busy creating something with what looked liked wood chips on paper to make a mosaic.

Christmas trees of all types are starting to appear.
This is the end or point, just one light pole.
 Looking back form light pole.

The sides of the building falling off to reveal brick

Chris and I sat on one  bridge and the others went over to the next bridge.

 Some more trees

Had to try some crepes that Aaron's students keep talking about.

Good stuff. Allison said the other day, "nutella always makes me happy"
Anyone for a hot dog....5 euros! We passed.
Back on Lido we found the Nativity under our big tree.
