Our first train ride was to Verona. You would have thought it was the best event so far, because the kids could ride backwards and not wear a seat belt!
When we got to Verona we stopped to use the bathrooms. We first had to figure out how to pay to get into them. I kept dropping Euro coins in, and nothing worked. Then the janitor came by and motioned to the change machine. With correct change we were in business.
We set off walking through the rain towards the center of town. We didn't get to far when we found an old fort off the side of the road hidden away from view. David was off exploring with all of us following along.
The kids loved it. Hills to climb, windows to peer through and stories thought up of what could have taken place here.
